Flickrblogging — "The Disappointment" (IMG_3280)
Later, in the bar
"Dude, why did you interview him?"
"C'mon, Johnny, don't you know who that was? Didn't you recognize him?"
"No."
"Johnny, that was the Green Goblin! What a scoop!"
"Dave…"
"What?"
"Dave, that wasn't the Green Goblin. That was some guy in a green mask."
"…Seriously?"
"Yeah. Seriously."
"Aw crap, man, that's like eighty bucks worth of tape I used. That's gonna come out of my salary." [Drinks a shot of whiskey] "Heh, you're just yankin' my chain, sure. That was the Green Goblin. I'll be fine."
"No, Dave, that was some guy in a mask. Dude, you're a little too credulous, you have to work on that."
"Whatever. I suppose you're gonna tell me that ain't Wolverine that was tending bar, too, right?"
"Dave, that's just a guy who needs to trim his fingernails."
5 commentsFamily Reunion; Air Museum
So my wife's family had a reunion this past weekend. It was held down in Minto (about 45 minutes south), and the parts we got to featured lots of food, a bonfire, and fireworks.
(This is going to get a little image-heavy, so I'll put the rest of the photos in the full post.)
No commentsSteep Rock
This past weekend, the day after Canada Day, we took a run with my parents up to Steep Rock, where my sister Nicola was staying with her three boys (well, her hubby and their two sons).
Some photos:

Thursday already?
Oops, I guess I'm not doing a Thursday 13 this week either.
Here's a couple photos:

The ol' drive-in…
…is no more.
We went to Clear Lake last weekend to take apart the projectors at the now-defunct drive-in at Sportsmans' Park. After that we went out to supper at a highwayside diner called "Uncle Tom's Cabin".
2 commentsGoodbye, B and B
Friends of ours are leaving the province in a couple of days, so we had them over last night, along with our friend John and his kids. We had barbecued chicken (the bbq looked a litte iffy for a while, but then the rain stopped and the clouds parted) and oven-roasted potatoes and a couple of salads.
And alcohol.
Oh my, what a night that was. I think I was probably the most sober of us all (barring the kids, who, at 11 and 8, are ineligible for wine and beer and spirits, and so they had to get hopped up on Coke, sugar cookies, and vinerterte).
A good night was had by all, as far as I could tell, but this AM my darling wife, sad to say, is paying the price.
Photos in the full post.

Biking
I went for my first bike ride of the season just now. I pedalled till I ran out of dry land.
And now I'm off to the Evans.
