Doesn't that look like fun?

Ippon-seoi-nage, or the one-armed shoulder throw.

More bathroom reno photos

K, priming the walls.

Me, chiseling the shower drain a little wider so my pan would fit.

What I did with my summer vacation

Well, part of it, anyways.
I removed some moldy drywall from our basement bathroom a while ago, and I've been replacing it for the last little while. Well, actually, I've been hanging drywall yesterday and today; before that was some prep work, some more demolition, and a trip to the Peg to visit our respective [...]

Election funnies

So there's a provincial election coming up. The incumbent party, the New Democrats, have decided to use "Forward, Not Back" as a slogan in this election:

Which makes me wonder if no one—no one—in their entire campaign apparatus has seen the Simpsons episode where Kang and Kodos run for election on Earth:

I mean, really. [...]

No longer quite so toothsome as I once was

Yesterday I had my wisdom teeth out.
So it's been pudding and yogurt and "meal-replacement drinks" and (now) consommé.

Easter

Easter found us at my inlaws' farm, enjoying a chilly spring day with my wife, her parents, and her sister and her family. Mr. M, who is two and a half (if I recall correctly), entertained us all, especially with his hoarse and throaty shout-out to a ceramic Cookie Monster figurine. ("Coooooooookie Monster!", [...]

Westering (3)

Previous entries: Part 1, Part 2.
We got back to Edmonton and dropped the car off. Over half the deposit I'd put on it got refunded, since we didn't keep the car the full week. That was pleasant.
My memory grows hazy of what we did—I know there was much playing with little Miss [...]

Mango salsa

Yummy!

So the Co-op had a sale on case lots of mangoes. Ten mangoes in a box for five bucks. I couldn't resist, especially considering that I have a recipe (from a Co-op flyer, in fact) for mango salsa.
Recipe below:
